Shipping policy

Shipping Arrangements

Shipping arrangements are confirmed separately for each order according to the shipment volume, gross weight, destination, required delivery date, packing method and agreed trade terms.

Production time and international transit time are separate. Completion of production does not mean that the goods have reached the final destination.

Shipping Methods

Available shipping methods may include:

  • Express courier for samples and smaller shipments;
  • Air freight for time-sensitive commercial shipments;
  • Ocean freight by full-container load or less-than-container load; and
  • Buyer-appointed freight forwarder for collection or delivery to an agreed warehouse, terminal, port or consolidation point.

The availability of a carrier or shipping method depends on the destination, shipment characteristics, service coverage, space availability and current carrier conditions.

Freight Quotations

Shipping costs are normally quoted separately based on:

  • Shipment volume and gross weight;
  • Number and dimensions of cartons or pallets;
  • Origin and destination;
  • Shipping method and service level;
  • Export packing requirements;
  • Insurance requirements; and
  • The agreed Incoterm and named place or port.

Freight quotations are subject to their stated validity period. Carrier rates, fuel surcharges and other logistics charges may change before shipment is booked.

Incoterms and Shipping Responsibility

The applicable Incoterm and named place or port will be stated in the quotation, order confirmation or shipping documents.

Responsibility for freight, insurance, export clearance, import clearance, customs duties, taxes, destination handling and inland delivery is determined by the agreed Incoterm.

Unless expressly included in the quotation, import duties, taxes, customs-clearance fees, storage, inspection, demurrage, destination handling and inland delivery charges are not included in the product price.

Dispatch

Goods will be prepared for dispatch after the applicable order requirements have been completed and the shipment has been released according to the agreed payment and inspection conditions.

The planned dispatch date is an estimate unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing.

Any request to hold completed goods, change the destination, change the shipping method or combine shipments may result in additional handling, storage, documentation or freight charges.

Transit Time

Transit times are estimates provided by carriers or freight forwarders and are not guaranteed arrival dates.

Buyers should allow sufficient time for:

  • Export handling and carrier booking;
  • International transportation;
  • Transshipment where applicable;
  • Customs inspection and clearance;
  • Destination handling; and
  • Final delivery.

Transit may be affected by carrier schedules, port congestion, limited shipping space, weather, customs inspections, regulatory action, peak-season demand and other circumstances outside the reasonable control of the parties.

Urgent and Partial Shipments

Requests for express delivery, air freight, partial shipment or another urgent arrangement must be confirmed in writing before booking.

Urgent or partial shipments are subject to operational feasibility and may involve additional freight, packing, handling or documentation charges.

An urgent shipping request does not guarantee a particular arrival date.

Shipping Documents

Available shipping documents will be provided after they are issued or become available.

Depending on the shipping method and agreed terms, these documents may include:

  • Courier tracking number;
  • Air waybill;
  • Bill of lading;
  • Commercial invoice;
  • Packing list;
  • Certificate of origin where agreed; or
  • Other agreed export or transport documents.

Requests for special wording, legalization, certification or additional shipping documents must be made before shipment and may involve additional cost or preparation time.

Tracking Information

Tracking or shipment-reference information will be provided after it becomes available from the applicable courier, carrier or freight forwarder.

Tracking information may not become active immediately after dispatch. Availability and update frequency depend on the carrier and shipping method.

Buyer-Provided Information

The buyer is responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping information, including:

  • Consignee name and delivery address;
  • Telephone number and postal code;
  • Tax, registration or importer information where required;
  • Named port, airport or delivery location;
  • Freight-forwarder details where applicable; and
  • Any destination-specific shipping instructions.

Additional costs or delays caused by incomplete or incorrect information, refusal of delivery, delayed customs clearance or failure to provide required import documents may be charged to the buyer where applicable.

Import and Customs Requirements

The buyer is responsible for confirming that the goods can be legally imported into the destination country and for obtaining any required import licences, registrations, permits or approvals, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Customs authorities may inspect, delay, hold or reject a shipment. Customs clearance time is outside the estimated carrier transit time unless expressly stated otherwise.

Delivery and Receipt

The buyer or consignee should inspect the number and apparent condition of cartons or pallets when the shipment is delivered.

Visible damage, wet cartons, missing cartons or other apparent transit issues should be recorded on the carrier’s delivery receipt where possible.

The buyer should retain relevant carton labels, photographs, delivery documents and carrier records when reporting a transportation issue.

Unsuccessful Delivery and Storage

If delivery cannot be completed because of an incorrect address, unavailable consignee, unpaid destination charges, missing import documents or refusal of delivery, the carrier may charge storage, redelivery, return or disposal fees.

Such charges may be the buyer’s responsibility when the unsuccessful delivery results from information, documentation or actions under the buyer’s control.

Transportation Delays

Reasonable efforts will be made to provide updated shipping information when a significant delay becomes known.

Carrier estimates may change after booking or dispatch. A delayed shipment does not automatically qualify for cancellation, refund or compensation unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by applicable law.
