A self-adhesive bag closes by folding a flap over an adhesive strip. Resealable adhesive supports repeated access, while permanent adhesive is intended for stronger one-time closure.
Peel strength and opening cycles depend on adhesive chemistry, strip position, film surface, temperature, dust, pressure and dwell time. Permanent adhesive is not automatically tamper-evident unless the finished construction is tested to a defined requirement.

When to Use — and Not Use — Standard Self-Adhesive Bags
Press-to-close PE self-adhesive bags are designed for organization, repeated access and general product protection. They are not a universal replacement for sterile, liquid-proof, high-barrier or regulated dangerous-goods packaging.

What films are available for custom self-adhesive bags?
Standard Flexon self-adhesive bags are available in virgin LDPE, selected for flexibility, clarity and low-odor packaging. The exact resin grade is selected according to the packed product and destination market.
Recycled-content PE, anti-static PE and compostable formulations are separate material programs. Their performance, disposal requirements and supporting documents must be evaluated independently.
What thickness should I choose for a PE self-adhesive bag?
Thickness depends on bag dimensions, packed-product weight, sharp edges, puncture risk and handling conditions. General selection ranges include:
- 30–50 microns for lightweight products
- 50–80 microns for standard retail and general storage
- 80–120 microns for hardware and industrial components
- Up to 150 microns for engineered heavy-duty requirements

What is the difference between resealable and permanent adhesive?
A single-track seal uses one interlocking adhesive construction and is suitable for general storage, retail packaging and lightweight products.
A double-track seal uses two interlocking profiles, providing greater closure redundancy for repeated opening and closing. The correct option depends on bag size, packed contents, opening force and target cost.
Can self-adhesive bags be used for food-contact projects?
Food-contact options are available when the selected resin, additives, colorants and printing system are suitable for the intended food and conditions of use.

What is the production lead time, and what is required for a quote?
Eligible plain products typically require 7–10 days. Custom production normally requires 15–20 days after material, dimensions, artwork, samples and order details are approved. Shipping time is quoted separately.
